Music was my first love

"Music was my first love" is a song by Jon Miles, with lyrics that I keep coming up with in my music head. My grandfather was the founder of a choir and orchestra at home in Gjøvik, and he also wrote some songs. Maybe that's where I have the urge to make music. I make music just for my own pleasure. It reminds me of cooking. You start with several, initially, boring ingredients. Then you start putting them together, with and without technical finesse. With creativity and craftsmanship, you can create taste experiences that rival the art of such raw materials. This is also the case with music. I sit a lot at the piano and make songs. Songs that come to me as I play chords and melody lines. Then I need to go to other people to process it all, and find ways to put it together. It could be one studio, or the other studio, or a solo musician. My first release was created in collaboration with talented songwriters at Rena in Innlandet, and with female vocals. In the Anders Martinius Project, it is not the solo performances or the various players' "brand names" that are decisive. It's the songs themselves.
